explain how the specific heat capaticty works in terms of an aluminum pot with a rubber handle?
The intent of most pot handles is to allow greater comfort when handling the pot by not transferring heat to the hand as rapidly as the pot metal does. This is much more about heat conductivity than heat capacity. The handle may heat up slower because of a combination of its low conductivity and its heat capacity, but eventually it gets just about as hot as the metal it’s mounted on. Its benefit lies in conveying less heat to your hand than the bare metal would by virtue of its low conductivity.
