Antique Gold
How can I dull or antique gold trim (sewing)?
I am currently sewing my Halloween costume, but the gold trim I’m using is too bright and shiny. Does anyone know what I could use to make it more dull and antiqued looking?
I was thinking there might be some sort of glaze, but wasn’t sure what I could use. Thanks!!!
Before you attach it I would spray it down with a little spray paint. At your local craft store you should be able to buy Design Master spray paints they have a color called Glossy Wood Tone. That color is great for toning down brights without loosing all of the color and all of the shine. Once it is dry you can attach it as usual.
