rocky mountain area trapping questions?
I am a new trapper getting ready for this years trapping season. I am interested in land trapping of predatory animals such as coyotes, foxes, bobcats and the occasional badger. I live in Wyoming and have plenty of free time and I hunt big game all the time. My question is what is the difference between lures and baits? What are the best of each and should i use urine? I see that you never got an answer, so I will try helping you. I am not a trapper, but I am a fisherman and hunter. There is a difference between lures and baits in fishing. A lure is something that will trick fish into getting close enough the hook, which it usually inadvertently bites. A bait is something designed to be eaten, like a worm or powerbait. In the hunting/trapping world, a lure is a scent, decoy or sound. A bait is a salt block, raw meat, grain or apples. As for the second question, all I know is that human urine will probably scare off any animals you are going after. The website below should be very helpful.
