How much of what should I feed my baby mockingbird?
Well my dad found this baby mocking bird, doesn’t know how to fly yet, and it was destined to be eaten by cats, so he brought it home. I’ve had it for about 3 or 4 days now, feeding him (Jitterbug), Trout worms( bc they were the smallest worms we could find) , mealworms, red rasberries, and at first(but not anymore) decapitated superworms(or L meal worms). I give him water with a 5 cc syringe, i give him 1 cc of water at a time, and he can’t feed himself yet, I’m teaching him. (PS: he is just learning to fly)
thank you for your answers, tonight he has a tummy ache, and i’m pretty sure, like you said “don’t feed him every time he opens his mouth” i over fed him. he acts hungry when i know he is not, and my dad said not to give him anymore water. please pray that he gets it through the night, I will take better care of him and use yall’s information, thank you so much for your help. 
I would suggest NOT giving him water. He can easily aspirate the water into a lung and die from pneumonia. Dip the worms into water before feeding him and that will be enough fluid for now. I would offer him corn cut off the cob, or canned corn, bits of chopped carrots and broccoli.
Keep these bits in front of him and also add sunflower seeds and other wild bird seeds. They are omnivores, after all and will eat almost anything.
Thank you for saving the bird’s life – mockingbirds are a treasure. Oh – dog/puppy kibble is a good food too.
