Black Folder
when i start up my acer 4520, there is a black screen, and my documents folder pops out can i restore it?
im confused my computer is just black screen the task bar wont show or any of my desktop programs only my pictures folder
see if you can boot into safe mode
hit f8 repeatedly when your computer is first starting up and it will give a list of options. choose “safe mode” then it should boot up to the windows login screen, should be an “administrator” and then whatever accounts you created. try administrator and see if it lets you boot into it.
if it does, you have a few options, create a new account, or try to repair the OS.
if you open up control panel and go to users, you can make a new account.
if you need to repair, open up my computer, right click on “C” and go to properties. click the tools tab and click “check now” under “Error checking”. check both boxes and click “start” it will most likely say that you need to restart your computer to run this and ask if thats ok, click yes, restart your computer and that should pop up before it goes into windows, let it run, see if it fixes.
only other easy option would be to run a restore or use restore discs if you have them but be careful as this will erase all your data and set it back to factory standards.
