question about the theory that you can travel to the future by revolving around a black hole?
im only in high school so i’m probably wrong but this is my question? if the theory that if you orbit around an object with a lot of gravity time slows is correct than wouldn’t that mean that we are traveling into the future every day because we are orbiting the sun and the middle of the milky way? if im wrong just let me know whats right. Gracias!
You won’t travel to the future by going fast, sorry. And since you’d be in the vinicinity of a black hole, the most likely will happen is you getting killed by the radiation coming from the BH’s event horizon.

Two notes:
1) Your use of the word “theory” is incorrect. Read for example http://notjustatheory.com/ for an explanation.
2) What have you learnt from the theory of relativity (yes, that’s an actual theory), Einstein’s or Galileo’s? If you move relative to an object, people on that object will see you moving relative to you. So if you move very fast relative to us on Earth, you will see us on Earth moving very fast relative to you? So which one will be going faster then? Remember that the first principle of Einstein’s Special Relativity tells us that there are no priviledged inertial frames.
3) The radiation field (X-rays, ultraviolet, etc etc) in the vicinity of a black hole is both intense and dangerous for humans. You would receive a lethal dose even before making the attempt run at your time travelling.
4) The intense gravity near a black hole produces very strong tidal effects which would rip apart your ship (starting with the side closer to the black hole).
5) Light cone drawing is a technique to illustrate how the relative velocity changes the perception of measurements made in different inertial frames. Scientists don’t actually use them (algebra is more reliable than drawings) but it gives a visual representation. The problem is that you can’t make your worlline overcome another’s. However, by your going fast (or near an intense gravitational field) what happens instead is that your perception of the natural time rate of events is slower than elsewhere’s, but that’s not the same thing as travelling to the future.
