How to get rid of Black Widow Spiders around house in Florida?
I live in SW Florida and have had an excessive amount of swamp and Black Widow spiders on, in and around my home. What are the best ways to get rid of them and keep them away for a good period of time. — I feel like a prisoner in my home.
try to keep any clutter from around the exterior. Tall grass, stuff stacked next to the house, even a well groomed flower bed may give a foot hold if it has plants/shrubs that are touching the house. If you are finding evidence of them in the attic you can have a professional treat the attic with a dusting machine that will have some residual, the foggers that you get from the store may also kill some up there but there will be no residual. And any that you happen to find inside will be easily taken care of by any insecticide. Remember though with the canned products like”Raid, Black Flag”, etc they will not drop the spider(or insects that you happen to spray) instantly, but if you get any of the product on them they will die so don’t try to drown them by continual spray, you can stain surfaces and finishes inside the home this way.
