A large-diameter cutting reel coupled with its thick blades deliver twice the energy to power through weeds, small twigs and dense grass that would jam many other reel mowers. In addition, the mower comes with one-touch cut height adjustment system and a padded height-adjustable handle making the Momentum reel mower easier and more comfortable to use.
There are a good number of reviews on Amazon for this product and they are overwhelmingly positive. Recently, one particular reviewer’s gas powered mower died. They wanted a lower-maintenance solution for a small lot. After deciding on this reel mower, they stated that it’s a joy to use!
Although it isn’t effortless, they mentioned that it is easier than using many gas mowers they’ve owned before. It clips the grass very quietly so you won’t disturb your neighbors if you get the urge to mow your lawn early in the morning or late at night. They also said there’s just something satisfying about watching the grass clippings quietly dance through the air as you walk across your yard.
It really is a well designed machine. Many people found it to be extremely simple to assemble, and virtually all the adjusting that needs to be done such as the blades, handles and cutting height are straightforward and easy to do. One person was ready to sell his mower after just one use because they felt it wasn’t cutting very well, but after making a small adjustment the mower cut drastically better. Just make sure that it is adjusted correctly and you should be good to go.
Some reviewers stated that it is just a bit narrower than some other push reel mowers, so you may need to make a few more passes to cut the entire yard. You may find that this mower has trouble cutting some of the “stalk” type grass as well. Also another reviewer felt that for the price of the mower, the front wheels should be made out of rubber as opposed to plastic. While it is more expensive than a standard reel mower, the combination of the quality of the product and the environmentally friendlier aspect of the mower make this mower very highly recommended.
As one reviewer put it, the Fiskars mower makes mowing really fun. It does an even better job than advertised, and is simply awesome. Fiskars nailed this product, and although it is somewhat heavier than other push reel mowers, nearly everyone has enjoyed this product. You might just find that cutting the lawn could end up being a joy.
