Buck knife doesn’t lock?

I have old buck knife from the 50′s that somehow broke. When you flip open the buck knife it doesn’t lock it feels like its controlled by a spring. Well the spring go loose or something because nothing is keeping it from staying folded or unfolded, it just kinda flops around. This knife means a lot to me and if anyone knows what happened or how i can fix it that would be great.

sounds like the spring broke, or its filthy rusted and jammed.

if you return it to buck, they will repair it at no charge. just enclose a note that says you want it fixed, no replaced. If it cant be fixed, they will likely return it to you with a new one.
