Buck Metro

Is there a way i can metro flash a phone myself?
I have a non metro pcs phone and wanna flash it. The website says they’ll charge 40 bucks to do it. Is there some sort of thing they use or can i do it myself? and how? Thanks.
Yeah, it’s possible. But if you’ve never done it before and aren’t absolutely sure how to do it, go ahead and pay the $40 .Oh yeah, check what Market you’re in, the newer Metro markets can’t use flashed phones or even their own older original Metro phones.. Check and see what area you’re in, if it’s a newer trimode AWS 1700mhz market , you’re out of luck.
Another thing is that it is much harder these days to get your flashed phone onto Metro’s system if you did it yourself and they have been known to hit you with a flashing fee even though you did it for free on your own.. Metro is turning into a more evil company every day. Even their dealer’s are hating it.
If not, go online to sites like the Metro pcs mod /flashing forum at Howard Forums . If you are looking for software, check out mobile-files.com
If you’re going to ask questions, do it after you’ve thoroughly looked for the answers. That’s what search function is for. The guys at Howard’s especially hate what they considered rude and lazy newbie behavior and will not help if you approach them with something like “HEELLLP! PLEEEZZEE! I NEED INFO!” That’s a fast way to make enemies there because a lot of them had to earn their knowledge. Mobile Files isn’t as harsh but a lot of them are English as a Second Language foreigners .
You’d need stuff like Cdma workshop, Qpst , Bit pim, Unicdma, Easy Cdma, Hex Editor, Win Hex, GetSpc and other software. Cdma workshop is the one that can do the most but beware of the free demo versions because a lot of them are infected with a trojan horse. Some of the software is free, some is not. And don’t even think about asking about esn changing . That is straight up illegal. And you’re gonna need the right cables. Usb ones work but sometimes only the older serial cables do.
Basic diff? Usb is easier to use if it ‘s working but serial cables don’t need drivers to work.
You’d also need a Metro Prl . Without that, no Metro. Period no matter what other software you’ve got.
Verizon phones are the easiest to flash. Sprint is a little harder.
Forget about Virgin Mobiles. Even advanced flashers hate those things
Btw, if all the stuff I threw at you about Metro discourages you, and you have Cricket/Leap in your area, consider flashing to them instead. They are like Metro’s nicer twin. And they have the same trimode issue in their new markets, just like Metro. Check that first if you consider Cricket.
.
This will get you started but it’s up to you what you do with it.
