Buck Tempest

How is this gaming rig?
OK, within the next six months I am going to be buy a new gaming rig. Well I am buying the parts and building it myself. So what do you think of these specs:
Intel core 2 quad 9550 at 2.83 ghz but going to overclock to 3.3
1000 watt corsair power supply
4gb gskill ram 800 dual channel
Dual nvidia Gtx 280′s in sli (bfg overclocked)
western digital 500gb hard drive
NZXT Tempest mid tower case
creative fatality sound card
samsung lightscribe dvd drive
EVGA 790i ultra motherboard
Zalman superflow fan
vista 64 bit service pack 1
Thats it. And the price that I am getting is 2300 bucks, but its probably gonna be cheaper when I buy it around February.
I just bought the 790i motherboard and just want to point out that I kept its onboard sound instead of adding a separate card. Its a 7.1 ready chipset which frankly is overkill for gaming and videos regardless.
The Fatal1ty sound card is a great card, but only audiophiles would pick up on the subtle differences.. If you need it for professional level sound capturing or editing (like if you have a band and need the MIDI interface to record with) then by all means go with the Creative card because it has a better signal-to-noise ratio, but otherwise you can shave a few bucks off your set-up.
Since you are setting up the whole rig yourself and overclocking the CPU, consider getting SLI-ready memory in place of the Gskill RAM. The price difference is only a few bucks, and it will essentially auto-overclock itself once it detects that it is in a SLI-ready motherboard like your 790i. Gpureview.com did a test and found that you gained an extra 3-5% (depending on the game) frame rate increase compared to standard memory. GSkill is great memory though, so you’ll probably see a figure closer to the 3% than the 5% though. If you are looking to eek out every last drop of performance, its a good bang for the buck. You can get SLI-ready DDR3 memories up to 2,000 MHz in fact.
Otherwise, the rest of the components are all great quality and will make a great rig.
