Camo Hunter
Did American troops in Europe during World War 2 wear camouflage uniforms?
There were some marines and soldiers in the Pacific theater of World War 2 that were issued combat uniforms that had camo patterns. The “Duck Hunter” pattern is was called, but I can’t find any evidence that U.S. GIs that served in Europe utilized this specific uniform. I came across something that claimed the reason this is so is that the Waffen SS camo uniforms were nearly identical to the U.S. “Duck Hunter” pattern. Does anybody know?
Yes to a limited extent some US combat troops were issued camo uniforms however friendly fire so the use of camo discontinued.
