Would you be embarrassed if the mayor of your hometown were named Bubba?
I live in North Little Rock, Arkansas. Our current mayor is Patrick Henry Hays, but a guy named Bubba Lloyd is running against him. I know this may sound silly and superficial, but I can’t help but think that if Bubba Lloyd became the mayor of my hometown, I would be embarrassed by the thought that he called himself Bubba! I’m guessing that Bubba is his nickname and not his real name, and if that’s the case, I can’t help but think that it would sound more professional if he went by his given name rather than by his nickname. What do you think?
