Some good classic novels for teens?
i need a couple of classics to read for my english class. in this case, classics is a pretty broad term. just any book that is highly regarded as a classic will do. i’m fifteen and this is an honors class. it can be any length but i’d prefer it if it were at least 2OO pages. please don’t recommend anything twain, dickens, hemingway, steinbeck, or jane austen. as i’ve read most of their books. i have also read catcher in the rye and the secret life of bees and have enjoyed both of these books. i like books that aren’t too boring and ones that i can relate to but any suggestions would be really helpful. i’m female, but i’m not the biggest fan of romance novels, but that’s fine too. i’m a sucker for character development.
i was thinking of one flew over the cuckoo’s nest but i don’t know if its age appropriate. let me know if you’ve read the book. and what are some other good classics for teens? thanks in advance! (:
