With the price of tuition today,I know he couldn’t do it now. He’d have to hope that his children got some kind of help otherwise they couldn’t do it.http://www.collegeboard.com/student/pay/add-it-up/4494.html At $35,000 dollars a year for four years that works out to $ 140,000 just to send one kid to college. Times five kids you need $ 1,200,000. You people, who are giving me thumbs down, need to do the math.
Edit: So,They graduated in the 1930s. You do realize that things cost a lot more now than they did then? It’s someyhing called inflation and it puts some things out of reach for the common man. I own a house today and it is worth seven times as much as the house my father bought in 1960. Both house are equivalent with the same square footage. In fact if the house my father owned were on the market now it would cost as much as mine. This is the kind of thing that was driving the housing boom until recently.
