Information on Colonial South Carolina?
I need to know Colonial South Carolina’s
1.) Geography
2.) Religion
3.) Economy
4.) Politics
Also, if one were to write an advertisement to France to come to the new world (Colonial South Carolina), what types of things would you say? What kind of Slogans, logos, blurbs would you use to make settlers to come to Colonial South Carolina instead of the other 13 Colonies? What advertising would you use to go with it (Snob Appeal, Testimonial, Emotional Words, Plain Folks, or Bandwagon)?
Remember: This advertisement is going to France (mainly the Huguenots) in order to get them to come to the new world (not really).
Please help me. I need help with this and I don’t know what I should do.
Thank you!

French Huguenots were IN South Carolina.
Huguenots (French Protestants) refugees escaped to Colonial America from the French Catholic slaughter of thousands and thousands of non-Catholic men, women, and children.
Under King Louis XIV the Huguenots were not only forbidden to worship God in their own way, but also forbidden to leave their country on pain of death. Many, however, probably half a million, escaped.
In the early years, many Huguenots settled in the area of present-day Charleston, South Carolina.
These people were at first coldly received in South Carolina, but in time they came to be regarded as a substantial portion of the population. It was Governor Blake that first recognized the the Huguenot immigrants, and he secured for them full political rights.
In 1685, Rev. Elie Prioleau from the town of Pons in France was among the first to settle there. He became pastor of the first Huguenot church in North America in that city. The French Huguenot Church of Charleston, which remains independent, is the oldest continuously active Huguenot congregation in the United States.
Henry Laurens, who signed the Declaration of Independence for South Carolina, was one of these French Huguenots.
The reason Lord Baltimore set up the Colony of Maryland was because the Catholic Church had such a horrible reputation of persecution and slaughter of non-Catholics that no one wanted them in the new world.
I don’t know about South Carolina but many colonies out right BANNED Catholics …. any place that banned Catholics and supported religious freedom was a paradise for French Huguenots.
Huguenots quickly assimilated into South Carolina society, raising farms, opening businesses, participating in politics.
South Carolina would probably have been described as a tropical sea port but with forests full of sturdy soft and hard wood trees.
It quickly picked up and agri-economy of cotton and tobacco, but planters early on found out that the sandy coastal plain was perfect for growing and cultivating rice.
At one time, South Carolina was the LEADING world exporter of rice, Carolina Gold.
Plenty of sea trade.
Religious freedom, no church mandated power rule, self governing, profitable, excellent weather, plenty of superior raw materials, coastal plain in the east, low mountainous plain in the west, huge amounts of fresh water …. and finally, acceptance and citizenship …. would have been huge draws for Huguenots.
