LOW AND NEEDY OAF
The stag weeps
for the King,
as cur with its coward
poach in a deep forest
lost to the crown
by neglected walls,
No gatekeeper,
…no gate,
slow paces of the stalker and snipe,
at night prowling.
The stag bawls
for cardinal order,
but no deer or doe
can be more
than a feast
of meat
at the table of such a low man.
