Desert Tactical
Some of the best tactical firearms?

For a rifle I was looking at the keltec su-16a,shotgun was the keltec ksg, pistol was the .50 desert eagle what are some other good choices and some good firearm manufactures(this will be my first time really using firearms not from WW2 so i dont know all the under credited firearm manufactures).

Handguns:

The best tactical handgun, in my opinion, is the 1911 .45. It is technically a WWI-era pistol, but it has been used by the US military since 1914 I believe? Not sure when it was adopted by the US military. But it was used through WWII (I have an actual ’43 Colt M1911A1 .45), through Vietnam, until 1985 when the US began issuing the Beretta 92F. They still used them in Desert Storm because of reliability issues with the Beretta. But by the end of that stuff, they were pretty much all using the Beretta. And now some units of the military like the MP, parts of the Army still use old WWII-era 1911s.

They make all kinds of them with much more improved sights, lighter triggers for a more accurate shot, beavertail grip safeties, all the bells and whistles one could imagine. Rails.

If I had to recommend a couple tactical 1911s for the money I would suggest the Colt XSE, Springfield TRP/Operator, Kimber TLE II… The Wilsons, Les Baers and Nighthawks are for when you want to spend $2,000+.

Otherwise I also like the Glock 19, the H&K USP, H&K Mark 23.

Main Weapons:

In my opinion, the MP5 and MP5K are the ultimate when it comes to a tactical weapon. The 9mm round is small, high energy and will penetrate well. The SAS has used it for years. Navy SEALs used it for a long time. It’s a good, small, lightweight weapon. Effective too.

Another one that is really good is the FN P90. The 5.7×28 round is low recoil and high penetration and the weapon is nice and small.

If you’re looking at some longer range, I’d opt for an AR-15. Bushmaster, Olympic Arms, Rock River Arms, Colt all make great ARs.

If you want something a little more reliable, maybe go for a sporterized FNC. It’s smaller than the FAL, but is a little more reliable than the ARs.

Otherwise if you don’t want to spend the money for an AR, grab an underfolding AK. I had an underfolding semi-auto Norinco for awhile that was a really good weapon. Not very accurate, but it would get all full of crap and still come out firing.

For a long-range rifle… Nothing beats the Remington 700. I’d probably go for a .308. If the Marines can make 1000 yard shots with it, you or I should be able to make shots at probably less than half that distance.

Savage also makes some good hunting rifles too.
