Dragonfly Pocket
Which Beginner Yo yo Should I Buy?

Hello, I am a beginner yo yo user who is looking to get a better yo yo. Note that price doesn’t matter unless its over $40 AUD. Also I don’t want a intermediate yo yo that needs a bind to be pulled back from a sleep. So yoyos like a Lyn Fury or Fast 201 are the kind I am interested in. Preferably butterfly/v shape style.

These are some yoyos I found that interested me, so I need an external opinion as to which is better, or some I ommited.
YoYoFactory:
-Fast 201
-SpinStar
-Velocity
-Pocket Change
-StarLight

YoYoJam
-Lyn Fury
-SpeedMaker
(Don’t want Kick Side or Journey btw)

Yomega:
-Raider
-Raider Ex

Duncan:
-Bumble Bee
-DragonFly
-Hayabuza
-Pulse
(Also no FreeHand YoYos, as freehand is not my style)

So it sum it up, I need a beginner yoyo, for any price (so if its better, price doesn’t matter) preferably butterfly.
Thank you in advance,
Christopher

YoYoFactory:
-Fast 201–
I’m not familiar with this, but you’d probably outgrow it quickly
-SpinStar–again not familiar with this one
-Velocity–ditto
-Pocket Change
-StarLight–In no way, shape or form a begineer yo-yo.

YoYoJam
-Lyn Fury–Really IMO more of an advanced begineer, intermedate yo-yo
-SpeedMaker–not familiar with
(Don’t want Kick Side or Journey btw)

Yomega:
-Raider–good looping yo-yo
-Raider Ex–good looping yo-yo

Duncan:
-Bumble Bee–I love my Bumble Bee, but not what you want.
-DragonFly–NO, gap is too narrow, you’ll outgrow it almost immediately
-Hayabuza–Not a begineer yo-yo.
-Pulse–A fun looper, but not want you want.
(Also no FreeHand YoYos, as freehand is not my style)

You actually should consider the Duncan Freehand. Without a counter-weight on the string it’s just like any other butterfly style yo-yo. Until I got a Duncan Metal Drifter, this was my primary butterfly yo-yo. Now I primarily throw (when using butterfly style) the Metal Drifter or Yomega Dash. Both the drifter and dash do require a firm jerk to return, but they will take you through begineer through many intermediate tricks.
