Duck Spring
help me!!! stupid duck egg!!! ughhh!?
in front of our house is a nest of duck eggs. every spring they lay them here and visit each night. my sister made me pick one up and keep it, and i was dumb enough to listen. i wanna put it back but i heard that if someone has its scent on it the mother will get rid of it by eating eat? anyways….we have no choice…i dont wanna crack it because its about 4 months old and isnt liquid anymore. i feel awful to just leave it outside. anyways any ideas of what to do? and what should i do for it til it hatches if i have to keep it? oh and the most reason i dont want it is beacause i have a puppy that chews on everything!!!! and bites! HELP ME!
have you been keeping it warm? If it cooled down, the duck egg is probably dead now, unless the duck just made the nest or hasn’t set on it yet. Put it back, it’s a myth that they can ‘smell’ human scent on their eggs. Mothers used to tell their kids that to KEEP THEM FROM MESSING WITH BIRD NESTS, HA HA HA!
