Engraved Spring
What type of weird key is this?
I recently found a key. It looks like a regular key but is connected together in the middle by a spring-like mechanism and joint. It is a Yale key and has the words “Stamford” “Yale & Towne” “Conn, U.S.A.” and “MFG, CO.” engraved into the handle.
The key is the same size as a normal house key and its handle has three circles in it.

The key has two grooves running the length of the key on one side and a single groove on the other side. The key looks like an ordinary door key. It is not hollow at the end.

OK, saw your pic. It looks like a cabinet key. I know I have one that locks a 3 drawer chest (early 1900′s). Does it have a hollow end to it?
