Full Tang
How do I know if my Kukri is full tang?
I’m assuming it isn’t… It’s a Kukri that I found at work, says Nepal on it but it could be an afghan knock off. How do I know if it has a full tang? Im afraid it’ll break if I try to chop anything with it if it’s not full tang.
Well hold it firmly than shake it all around and if you hear a wobble or ding sound than it is probably a rat tang or half tang. Another thing is look at the bottom of the sword in the middle of the pommel if there is a screw, bolt ect. Than odds are there are two pieces held together, rather than one solid piece in a full tang sword. And the only other option i have is to Research the sword. Just type it in on google or yahoo and see if there are places selling it that have a description of the tang type or even look at reviews of it online. Hope some of this helps.
