Can ferrets be allergic to chicken?
I have a very petite ferret that came to me as a stray. I fed her some gerber chicken baby food today because I am trying to help her put some weight on and she got very sick! She vomited and has had diarrea once since. Now when I think back to the past when I have fed her bits of meat in the past she had been sick also. Putting it all together tonight I am thinking she must be allergic. (Thus why she is not thriving on EVO ferret food-tons of chicken)
Is it possible for ferrets to be allergic to chicken?
It’s possible! I know lots of ferrets who cannot keep down poultry, and it’s mainly due to IBD. (Irritable bowel disease.) I don’t know if she is allergic to poultry in general, or just chicken, but the first food I suggested is turkey.

Make sure if you feed the Red Meat Dog Bites that you mix it with another food, as it does not have much taurine in it, which is needed for a a healthy ferret.
