What’s it like being homeless and a non EU citizen in Europe, esp. Germany, Scandinavia?
Say you are a young person, able to work, and you somehow end up in Europe, and you are not a European citizen and you only have small pocket money at best. How would you survive? How would you be treated? You probably don’t speak the language and wouldn’t know how to get a job, nor can you afford a place to sleep.
I’d like to know about Germany, Spain, Scandinavia, Portugal, Switzerland in particular.
You end up sleeping in the street, caught by the police because you are begging, beaten and robbed by other homeless, and unable to even ask for help because you don’t speak the linguo. You will end up in prison because you have overstayed your visa and if you are lucky sent back home with manacles and a criminal record in Europe and your own country.
Yes, many countries in the Euro zone have a generous welfare system, but it is for people who pay money into it and the ‘seat and wait for the money’ urban legend is just that, an urban legend.
