Handle Knife
Hairline crack in a knife handle?

I have a small crack in the wood handle of my hunting knife. It’s really thin, to where you can barely see it, but I’m worried about it getting bigger. Is there any way to stop the handle from cracking, or fix the crack altogether?

You would fix this the same way you fix a crack in glass. To keep it from spreading farther, drill a tiny hole at each end of the crack, with a drill bit diameter just slightly larger than the crack is wide. Fill the hole with a glued piece of wood (probably a round toothpick would work), and cut off even with the rest of the wood. TIP: stain the wood to match the handle BEFORE you glue it in,as the glue will probably seal the wood and keep it from absorbing stain. Take you time(It is really easy to do) and you won`t have any problem.

P.S. To keep your handle from cracking in the future, soak it in linseed oil, and let dry naturally.
