Handle Knives
If i put a wooden knife handle in fiberglass resin, will it make it stronger?
I am making a new handle for my knife, not that it matters but its a smith and wesson special tactical (with a pocket clip)
Much stronger.
Using a brush (medium stiff bristle), apply a thin layer, brushing downward from the blade end.
Before you start, have knife secured by the blade in a table mounted vice.
Paint with the knife in a horizontal position. Wear protective gloves and
goggles. While it’s drying, cover the knife with a box to ward off insects, dust, etc.
If you’ve never used fibre glass resin, it’s more treacherous than super glue, so
be careful. The resin gets very sticky quickly, so work at a moderate pace.
