how did hunting buffalo by white hunters destroyed the plain indians culture?
The buffalo, a very majestic animal, were highly revered by Plains Indians in the 1700′s and 1800s.Buffalo were used for food, supplies, clothing, and shelter by Native Americans. Every part of the buffalo was used for one purpose or another. When white settlers came to America and killed most of the buffalo, a major way of life was lost for the Plains Indians. I think there were millions of buffalo roaming the Plains hundreds of years ago. Unfortunately, there are very few herds left now.
