This is the definitive adventure for tiger and wildlife enthusiasts, whilst also taking in the legendary Taj Mahal in Agra and the historic sights of Delhi – old and new.
Kicking off in Delhi you’ll be heading straight to Ranthambhore by train, an experience not to be missed on any India tour! Ranthambhore National Park is one of the prime examples of Project Tiger’s conservation efforts in Rajasthan. Sprawling across an area of some 1334 sq. kms, the park boasts an impressive 10th century fort. In addition to the Bengal tiger, Ranthambhore is home to wild boar, nilgai, sambar deer and a variety of birds. Tiger spottings are more common in the morning or late afternoon. On this India tour you’ll venture on 4 exciting game drives over days 3 and 4 in shared jeeps or Canters.
Next it’s a classic train journey to Bharatpur – home to Keoladeo Ghana National Park. Rated as one of the finest bird reserves in the world, over 350 species of birds have been identified at the park. A prime time to take an India tour is from October to late February when myriad migratory birds such as the rare Siberian crane can be viewed.
En route your India tour your next stop is the legendary Taj Mahal then Bandhavgarh, set amidst the Vindhyan ranges. Claiming to have the highest density population of Bengal tiger in India, coupled with a population of leopard, nilgai, jackal, wild boar, sloth bear, gaur, sambar deer and colourful bird life, game drives are often peppered with sightings. You will get to enjoy 4 game drives on this India tour over two days in shared jeeps or Canters.
Last stop is Kanha, one of India’s largest parks, covering 1945 sq. km of forest and lightly wooded grassland. This is the land that Kipling wrote so vividly about in his literary classic ‘Jungle Book’. Kanha National Park has a tremendous variety of wildlife – including the Bengal tiger, leopard, sambar, chital, blackbuck, gaur, swamp deer and jackal. There will be 4 game drives over two days in shared jeeps or Canters.
Your India tour concludes in Delhi where you will get to visit the impressive Red Fort, Jama Masjid mosque and the colourful Chandni Chowk bazaar, along with a guided tour around New Delhi.
