Kershaw Blackout

Is there an Age Restriction for buying knifes in BC?
I wanted to buy a pocket knife to take when i’m hunting, at like Canadian Tire or some Sporting Goods Store or something, I was wondering if there’s an Age restriction.
Also, what type of knife is good to take hunting, for gutting animals (small ones and big ones) and for self defense?
I was thinking about a locking knife, sort of like this one: http://www.kershaw-knives.net/Kershaw-Ken-Onion-Blackout-KS1550.htm
because they can be opened quickly with one hand, and are pretty compact and light.
Maybe??? – I’m not going to be carrying it as a concealed weapon, i’m using it to gut animals and stuff like that, or selfdefense against smaller predators that might attack me, like wolves or small cougars… they sell some at canadian tire so they HAVE to be legal here, else they wouldn’t sell them…
A lot of stores have won’t sell to minors because they end up dealing with angry parents demanding they refund their kid’s money. There is no actual law though.
Don’t order assisted opening knives from the states or other countries. They are legal but customs still confiscates them. Then the onus is on you to prove that it is legal and keep them from destroying it. If you want one find a store in Canada that sells them.
The problem with assisted opening knives is that they are mostly liner lock. Liner lock knives can close on you hand if you try to push it into something unless they have a extra locking device. CRKT makes a bunch of knives with this feature, even assisted opening ones.
