Kershaw Kitchen

I have a kershaw 1670blk knife that was given to me that is really dull!?
i tried to sharpen it with a metal rod for the kitchen knifes but no luck.. i heard you can go to home depot or lowes and get sharpining stones to make it sharp but its stainless steel and i heard that its very hard to sharpen stainless steel… help guys
Stainless knives aren’t any more difficult to sharpen than non-stainless ones. That is to say, sharpening is an art that takes a fair amount of skill and practice. So both materials are equally difficult.
Frankly most of the handheld gadgets that are marketed with the aim of sharpening kitchen knives, are completely useless. Worse, in the hands of an ignorant person they’re just as likely to ruin the edge instead of honing it.
It’s worth your money to take it to a cutlery store and have the professionals sharpen it.
If you’re really bent on sharpening your own knives, the best thing to use is really a low-speed bench grinder with a very fine stone on one side. On the other side should be a hard felt wheel with green polishing compound. You can also sharpen knives very well with a stationary belt sander w/ something like a 400 grit belt.
