Antique Knife Collecting
Antique knives are becoming increasingly popular in today’s society. Whether you are a knife collector, or you just received a one as a gift, you can really begin to enjoy the history behind it. One added bonus to this, an antique knife will most likely be of great value. The general concept behind it being an antique is the simple fact that it is not being manufactured any longer, and most were made of some of the strongest, most durable steel or cast iron.
Antique knives can come in many different styles and sizes, as well as price ranges. If you are looking to get into antique knife collecting, or already are, then you have a couple of options. Many long time collectors of knives tend to shift their interests quite often and want to collect specific types, or brands, of knives and are looking to get shed of their collections that don’t fit into their new interest. If you are lucky, you may find one at a very reasonable price. There are many auctions of antique knives as well but the only downfall is the fact that you may be competing with other collectors and if they just so happen to have interest in the same knife as you, the price could be run up very rapidly.
Another option you have is to buy more modern knives that haven’t gained the title of “antique” and keep them for a period of time until they become antique. This is a new trend among collectors as you can gain ownership of many knives at a very inexpensive price and it is similar to investing because the value of a well crafted, quality knife will do nothing but rise with time.
There are thousands of antique knives available in the market today and if you are lucky enough to get your hands on one, or a few, just know that you have a great investment for yourself and your family, along with fulfilling an extraordinary hobby that you may have!

Dire Straits $4.84 By the mid-’80s Dire Straits were a platinum band dismissed in their native England as safe, yuppie rockers, yet the original quartet’s lean, guitar-driven music struggled to find a label home when first recorded in 1978. Mark Knopfler offers craggy vocals, literate blues-based songs, and sinuous, virtuosic guitar work. He melds keening solo lines and rapidly picked fills and dodges the synth wash… |

Lara Croft – Tomb Raider (Special Collector’s Edition) $1.84 Like the video game series it’s based on, Tomb Raider is best enjoyed for its physical strategies, since even casual scrutiny of story details will induce a headache. It’s more concerned with puzzles than plot, populated with characters that don’t have personalities so much as attitudes. It’s silly and somber at the same time, but as a franchise vehicle for Angelina Jolie in the title role of reli… |
