What are the regulations for importing a knife to Dubai, U.A.E.?
I am a knife collector, and I just moved to Dubai, U.A.E. While going through airport security in DXB, my bags were checked and I lost almost all my knives!
If you would have got familiar with Dubai customs rules prior arrival and have declared your knives you would not have lost them. Smuggling knives into Dubai will end in loosing them:) Customs rules are just one click away:

Weapons, knives, certain lasers and flashlights need clearance from Department of Protective Systems to get imported. Contact customs and try to get your knives cleared afterwards (don’t know if possible, but try anyway). For clearance you have to visit Police Station at Quasis 2. An officer will inspect your knives and decide if you can keep them in the UAE or not. At least that’s the way for shipments.
