Indian arrowhead question!!!!!!!!!!!!! from Oregon (crater lake area) (10 points best answer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)?
Ok when i was visiting Oregon one year 2008 around the end of July we went and visited Crater lake and on the way back home we went and visited some friends and they live pretty close to the lake and we found an arrowhead in her pasture and she said we could have it………… were Guessing that its from the Klamath Tribe around the area and Its made out of Black Obsidion and were also Guessing that its a Knife so Klamth tribe,Obsidion,Knife and its in Really REALLY GREAT SHAPE NO CHIPS OR ANYTHING!!!!!!!! and iv been reasearching on the internet trying to find out how much its worth Its 5” long and 1.5” wide and i cant find anywhere to tell me how much its worth without paying im trying to get an expert on the subject call them or send an email to them to try and identify and Apraise it too any info wll greatly be appreciated and thanks everyone in advance!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hokay,,, If it is 1.5 wide and 5 inches long, it id definitely a knife or spear. It is too big to be an arrow head. Contact the bureau of natural history. Send them some pictures (with a ruler beside it.
They might want you to bring it in to them.
If you don’t live in Oregon, You might need to mail it to them. They will not give you a price for the item. They’re not allowed to do that.
They will give you an approximate age of the item, How it was ‘flaked’, and if it has been reworked or not.
With this info, you might get a reasonable price for it on ebay. You might want to keep it for yourself.
I have a spear point from North Carolina. It is called a ‘KIRK’ point. It has been reworked, damaged and finally thrown away. It moght have been damaged in hunting.
It has been dated to 9 to 11,000 years old. I think that is pretty neat! I have put mine in its own little glass case.
I will probably never sell it. It is just nice to look at and wonder what people used it. What was it for? It is also a good conversation point.
