Isn’t the phrase ‘Trading Security for Liberty’ absurd?
Republicans always quote Franklin something like ‘For them who trade security for liberty deserve neither’. But when you think about it, government itself is precisely trading liberty for security, or we would all end up in the wilds with our bowie knife and log cabin – at least for those who would survive.
Isn’t this persistent ‘argue by silly quotation’ the pubs often do infuriating?
Pubs argue by quotation, because they don’t have a single original thought between them.
Look how many repeated, and still BELIEVE all the birther nonsense .
How does one defend such mass, massive stupidity? You can’t.
One hears a lie, and repeats it, and tells two friends, and they tell two friends, and they all end up believing it.
They are incapable of original thought. That’s why they all look to the ex drug addict and shock jock, Glenn Beck to tell them what to think. Their puny brains can’t handle much more than listening and regurgitating.
