Can I use solid silver for the blade of a pocket knife?

I’m a beginner at knife making and I’m wondering if its a bad idea to try to use solid silver as the blade for a 3.5 inch lock back that I’m making out of a Rough Rider kit. I plan to use buffalo horn or pearl for the handles. I’m thinking I should melt the silver ingot in a crucible with a bunsen burner and then pour it into a form.
I would also be interested in making a double-edged dagger with a solid silver blade. Is that feasible?

Yea it would be too soft to use as a knife blade and it would not hold an edge. That is why knives in flatware are made of stainless steel and have a sterling silver handle. Good luck and hope this helps.
