Which pocket knife to choose?
Liner lock, clip blade, damascus, pen blade… With all of these terms how could you possible choose just one pocket knife. Pocket knives come in many different styles, steels, configurations, and from many outdoor sporting goods manufactures so what does it all mean? It means that picking a pocket knife or EDC (every day carry) can be a tricky task if you’re not sure what to look for. When trying to pick out a pocket knife you must decide if you want a modern pocket knife from manufactures such as Cold Steel and Spyderco or if you want a classical pocket knife from Buck or Boker Old Timer. No matter the style of knife you are looking for you’ll be sure to find something that fits your needs. After choosing a modern or classic pocket knife you’ll next need to figure out what you’ll be doing with the knife.
A pocket knife that you plan on using everyday is designed for functionality like the Buck Canoe Knife. The canoe knife is a classical designed knife. These knives usually feature standard stainless steel blades and handle material ranging from wood to composite materials. The Buck canoe knife has a spear blade which is designed for piercing and cutting.
