Knife Wild
What kind of knife does a wild boar hunter use?

Do they have a groove in them to let the blood flow? Could you please give me a link to a website that will show me a picture of one? This is research for a book so if there are any wild boar hunters out there who want to give me heaps of detail on the whole subject of hunting wild boars feel free. Thank you

I actual hunt boar on a regular basis.

The knife I use most is a Gerber Steadfast.

(this site has picture and reviews)

This knife fits me best for my style of hunting but others like to use a longer knife (like a short spear)

When hunting boar it is very important to know where the “kill zone” on the boar is.
If you poke him wrong you can actually just make him mad and a mad boar is a dangerous boar.
Boar tusks are like knives and can inflict serious damage to you.

Whatever knife you use, I highly recommend keeping that knife as sharp as possible.
A dull knife is a very dangerous thing.

I have hunted with and without dogs.
When hunting with dogs it is important to train the dogs right.
A barking dog is pretty useless as a hunting dog.
You need to train your dogs to not bark at the boar because it scares them off.
A good hunting dog is worth it’s weight in gold.
