Knives Hunting
How to get rid of scratches in a hunting knife.?

I came across one of my hunting knives, and i noticed that it had a couple of scratches on it. I want to know how to get rid of them. Thanks.

Use progressively finer and finer grades of steel wool (available at any hardware store) to apply a, ‘brush coat’ to the blade. After those scratches start to blend in switch to very fine grades of emery cloth.

When you want to return a bright, but no a mirror, finish to the blade soak the emery cloth in a light gun oil prior to using it. Remember to keep on rubbing in long strokes and in the same direction. Final polishing can be done with a Dremel Tool and jeweler’s rouge.

Use the white paste, first, and the red paste, second. Run the Dremel Tool below 3,000 rpm. until after you know what you’re doing with it. At no time should you allow the metal to become hot. (So work barehanded.) That’s it!
