My dog has a small rash on its leg, anything I can do to help it?
I just noticed it today, there’s a small patch on his leg where I guess the hair fell out and in place of the hair is a red, bumpy, dry rash. My dad said it’s probably from Lucky lying down on that side of his body a lot but I kind of doubt it.
Is your dog digging or chewing at that spot? It could be what is called a “hot spot”. That’s when dogs chew and bite at the same spot over and over…usually due to allergies. Take your dog to the vet and they should be able to give you a medicated spray. It could also be dry skin. Try not to give the dog a bath frequently, and check with your vet, but I used to put about 1tsp full of olive oil into my dog’s food and mix. It helps with dry skin and gives their coat a beautiful shine.
