Will the collection lawsuit ruin my life?
I was sued by a collection agency for a credit card balance. For whatever reason (idiocy), I did not take care of it when I received it. A lien against my checking account was executed, and the remainder was garnished from my wages. Will I ever recover from this? I don’t intend to buy a house for a few years, but I am worried about employment opportunities. I actually graduated from college with a 3.5 and I am ashamed of how I handled this.
If it matters, I live in Ohio.
It wont follow you forever, but it will affect how you get credit for the next 7-10 years…..Your credit rating will be next to zilch, until some time passes and you have no more bad marks against it…
