How long did it take you to learn french horn (well)?
I started learning this week and I’ve already caught up to my highschool level friends. Is this normal? Take into concideration I play clarinet, quite well, so I know how to read music.
I played horn infinitely better on the first day I tried than after a summer of music lessons on the snare drum. Course they had me playing the triangle and that 3 sided beast is tricky.
The Horn can be a lifelong pursuit. You could learn the nature of black holes before you fully understand all there is to learn about paying horn. Regardless, it requires as much practice and dedication to become proficient at playing horn as any other instrument.
