How do you transfer ownership of a long rifle in Kentucky?
My Mom bought an AR15 for Xmas with the intention of giving it to me. I am 18 years old so I am 99.99% sure I can legally own it because it is a long rifle. The thing is it is registered to her, and I would assume I need to have all the checks run on me and get it registered to me. How do I go about doing this in Kentucky? Specifically Jefferson County if that matters.
There is no firearms registration in KY.
No check needs to be run on you.
She can give it to you as long as you aren’t otherwise prohibited from owning a rifle (felony, etc.)
Nice present!
