Love Birds
How do i get my love birds to like me and me be able to hold them?
My love birds are still like 5 months old and they dont like it when i grab them. I put them on my shoulders and I have been lately letting them roam around my kitchen and they slowly roam farther and farther in my house. Please tell me how i should handle my birds to like me.
Unless birds are hand raised from infancy, some will never bond closely with their humans. Also, as long as birds have another bird companion, they tend not to bond with humans. Birds are highly intelligent, but if they always have the option, they will bond with another bird. It would be unkind at this point to separate them because they are so bonded. You should not “grab” your birds. You should approach them singly and with your hand curled fingers toward you to allow them to step onto your hand. Again, with the pair and the present state, they may never be “lovey” to you.
