Weedless Hooks?
How can I make a treble weedless without cutting any of the hooks off? I fish with a Luhr- Jensen Krocodile, and I get caught in the weeds a lot. If you know any ways to make them weedless, that would be great.
I’ve never actually made my own weedless hook, specifically. I usually just buy them, they’re like $0.25more. I suppose you could make them bypulling some thin wire under the barb and attaching it to the top of the hook under the eye.
Typically, I’ll just switch to a soft lure and just barely bring the hook out of it so it skirts down the outside of the lure body. When the fish bites it the body will give and expose the hook, but there isn’t a whole lot of room for weeds to get caught on it.
Still, if the weeds are bad there’s not a whole lot any rigging or hook will do for ya. Maybe try a topwater or fly?
