Comical cutscenes add personality to the story.
A Space Shooter For 2 Bucks! is a vertically scrolling arcade shooter with a bit of a twist. Instead of steps to be presented to you straight while using a static ship to attack, Frima Studio’s new title decides to take a different approach. The game’s 16 stages are divided into two eight-speed zones, and the stages in these zones can be selected and completed in any order. Some stages are ancillary stages with uninspired bosses, but other stages are home to the game’s primary villains. Each stage serves a different purpose: to defeat the ancillary phases will upgrade your ship and make it stronger defensively while carrying out each of the game’s evil will give you their special weapons to use in future stages.
Clearly, A Space Shooter For 2 Bucks! taking a cue from the classic Mega Man games, though not in terms of actual gameplay. Aside from gameplay, which is the most important aspect of any game, A Space Shooter For 2 Bucks! also enjoys smooth aesthetics and a high production value.Download is only 54 megabytes, but sports plenty of story-telling art, and an abundance of quality (if not a bit over-the-top) cast. The game does not make an incredible amount of sense, but it is not necessarily supposed to, either. It is a very carefree and whimsical affair that has characters and a loose story more in common with Death Spank than Mass Effect.
