Best way to present/give a diamond necklace to a girlfriend?

I just bought a necklace for my girlfriend for her birthday and it comes in the box that folds open which is then in a gift box. I’m looking for reactions/thoughts/opinions as the best way to give it to her. Should I give her just the box the necklace sits in, or that box plus the gift box, or just the necklace? Thank you!
