Pocket Stainless

Is molded thermoplastic as strong as stainless steel (on a pocket knife handle)?
Is molded thermoplastic as strong as stainless steel or aircraft grade aluminum?
Which will last longer?
Which is more durable?
Will thermoplastic fall apart?
Most pocket knives seem to have stainless steel handles.
Thanks!
The answer’s are:
1st No, steel and aluminum are both stronger than thermoplastic.
2nd Steel and Aluminum will both outlast plastic.
3rd Steel and aluminum are both more durable than plastic.
4th eventually yes with heavy use it will fall apart.
The only things plastic has going for it is it comes in more colors, it is easier to grip, it’s not cold to the touch, and it is cheaper to produce. There was a time when most pocket knives had bone handles or scales as they are called and also made from animal horn.
