Point Hunter

2 point in hunter under saddle (w/t/c) flat?
Just wondering if you need to go into 2 point for the canter in a hunter under saddle flat class.
Also will you get marked down if you have a bad 2 point , I know the class is based on the horse, but would like to know..?
thanks!
Oh, I do have a trainer, and I do know what 2 point is. Just not familiar with hunter under saddle w/t/c.
For equitation you always sit, but in a hunter class it is perfectly fine to get into a slight 2-point and allow your horse to move more freely (by freely I don’t mean faster). Getting your weight off his back lets him use his back muscles more easily and stretch up with his spine. You don’t need to get in a two point and some horses move better if you sit the canter but you are definitely allowed to. Also just to clarify, 2 point and jump position aren’t necessarily the same thing. You can only get marked down for you position in a hunter class if it is interfering or preventing the horse from moving properly.
