you have a middle to low pocket pair, the flop is J-4-3 rainbow, do you raise or fold?
hint, if you’re not sure you have the best hand, then call but that might not protect your weak hand…….
If you are in early position, I would bet out to see if you can make a steal. If your opponent is drawing, he will probably fold to a respectable bet. Also, if he has a pocket pair higher than yours, but less than JJ, you may be able to push him out of the hand as well. Based on his reaction to your bet, you should be able to get a pretty good idea if he has you beat.
This is unlikely, but if you have mid to low pair, say 66… you also have a redraw situation for a straight if the turn comes out correctly – but I would not use that as a reason to bet since that is a long shot.
