Stop Sore Skin With These Changes
Is your skin ever itchy and red making it sore? There are some changes you can make in everyday life which could reduce this itchiness. One possibility is that you washing powder is causing your sore skin, especially likely if you have changed brands recently. On the other hand, your bed linen could be irritating your skin due to the manmade fibres found in many sets of duvet covers. It could be down to your bath/shower routine as the products you use can also cause allergic reactions.
Changing your washing powder can affect us as our skin might not be used to the ingredients in the new product we use. You might experience a red rash or itchiness after wearing washed clothes or using towels. If this has happened to you, try switching back to your old brand or try another alternative.
Your choice of bed linen could play a part in damaging your skin and hair. Sleeping on poor quality bed linen can cause skin irritation as well as ageing and mild hair loss. Try switching to 100% cotton sheets, or you could try silk and satin materials for you duvet cover. These materials will not pull or rub on the skin as much whilst you are in bed. You can get them in all sizes and costs vary, for a double duvet cover set including pillow cases, you could pay as little as £10, although some retailers will charge you much more.
There have been stories in magazines about people suffering extreme reactions to hair dye and shampoos. Whilst it is unlikely that you will suffer a very serious reaction, you might become irritated by a new shampoo or shower gel you use. Both natural and synthetic ingredients in your bath/shower products can cause reactions, you need to find a product that suits your skin.
Your doctor will be able to identify the cause of your skin irritation if it continues once you have changed all these things mentioned above.
